Adario Strange: Adario Strange
Originally from New York City's Lower East Side, Adario Strange's background
is eclectic. Before becoming a film director, Strange rose in the ranks
of the music business. First cutting his teeth in as a marketing director
at Universal Music, he then went on to create several independent music
ventures in New York. Most music industry watchers know Strange from his
work as the Editor In Chief of The Source magazine, America's number
one youth magazine. During his seven years as a feature writer and then
Editor-In-Chief at the publication, Strange pioneered the cultural shift
of hip-hop and rap music into the mainstream of the world's popular culture.

During this time, he also became a well-known radio personality and a record
producer for the late Tupac Shakur. After a successful tenure at The
Source, Strange created one of New York's first Internet consulting
companies called Mega Digital. Through Mega Digital, Strange helped launch
Internet brands associated with such large-scale companies as Samsung's
FUBU clothing line, The Source online, FreeListen.com, Inside.com, and Emmis
Communications. In the year 2001 Strange appeared in The New York Times
as a leader of the digital music MP3 movement heading up FreeListen.com.
Later in 2001, Strange released the book "The Art of Secrets: Pirates,
Robots, & Beats," an episodic recounting of the growth of the bleeding-edge
digital age emerging in America.

Strange has appeared as a guest discussing youth culture and technology
on ABC's Good Morning America, World News Tonight, CBS News, PBS, UPN
Channel 9 News, and in the pages of The New York Times, The New York
Daily News ,Crains business report and Billboard Magazine
. Strange also maintains the future culture blog MARS Magazine (which he founded in 2000), along with several other bloggers. In 2004, Strange released his first Japanese-language feature film "Hikikomori: Tokyo Plastic," shot on-location in Japan. Currently, Strange is touring with his new documentary film "The NYU Suicides".
