We included this wonder of science in last year's round-up,
but the announcement at the time was just that, an announcement. While a
general framework had been completed, the complete data was not fully published
until 2001. Since then several major advances had come about in genome mapping
that have sped up the process and yields new information about the human
make-up everyday. Craig Venter continues to lead the charge into the future
of genomics.
